In August 2015, Turing Pharmaceuticals, a start-up company founded by Martin Shkreli, acquired the drug, Daraprim. Turing Pharmaceuticals immediately raised the price from $13.50 to $750 per tablet, raising the annual cost of treatment for patients to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
For this assignment, conduct an internet research on Shkreli and Turing Pharmaceuticals, specifically with regard to the price hike. Develop a well-thought out thesis and arguments applying the concepts and principles of ethics and social responsibility discussed in the assigned reading and in the recorded lecture.
