In Week 2 you will be given a list of published journal articles from political science and international relations. Choose ONE article from this list, access it through the University Library’s website and read it carefully.
Write a report that engages with the article critically. You will need to address the following:
What is the core question or problem that the article seeks to address? What makes it political?
How is the author’s epistemological position reflected in the design of the research and the methods used?
What type(s) of evidence is used to substantiate the argument? How is it used? Is it convincing?
What other types of evidence could be used to better explain or enhance the explanation of the political issue? Provide examples of TWO qualitative and TWO quantitative sources and explain briefly how they might complement the analysis in the article.
