Theory: Discuss the theory at length. It should be clear you understand the theory! Is it micro/macro? Are there any clear assumptions of your theory? Does it explain specificcrimes or is it a general theory?
Empirical Status of the Theory: Does the research support your theory? Be specific! Talkabout the studies, their methods, how they measure concepts.
Application of the Theory: Apply the theory you have chosen to your problem.○If there is already research on your problem with the theory you have chosen talkabout it!
Policy Implications: Based on the theory you have chosen, how can you solve your particular problem? What other types of policies can come from your theory to help curb crime?
○If programs/policies exist that utilize your theoretical concepts–talk about them!Do they work?
