American Government Documentary Reaction Paper Guidelines and Instructions
For this assignment, you will need to watch a documentary pertaining to an American Government topic. It is recommended that you watch a documentary from the Frontline series produced by PBS.
You can also find many of these documentaries in the Kanopy and Films on Demand databases on the library website.
Below are questions to answer when watching the documentary.
What was the topic of the documentary?
Why did you pick this particular documentary?
What surprised you about the documentary?
What did you like about the documentary?
Was there anything that you disliked about the documentary?
Did you consider the documentary to be fair and objective?
Did you find watching documentaries an effective way of learning about American Government? How does it compare to learning the topic by reading the textbook or attending lecture?
You will respond to these questions in a paper of at least three pages. Any assignment under three full pages will be penalized. On the other hand, you will not be penalized if you go over three pages in writing your reaction paper.
The assignments will be double-spaced, be in Times New Roman, and use 12 point font.
While this is not a research paper, it is important that your answers show that you watched the documentary.
The best way to do this is to reference examples from the documentary.
The paper will also be graded on spelling, writing, and grammar. It is crucial that you proofread your paper in order to prevent any careless errors that could cost you points.
The paper will be checked for plagiarism using Unicheck. The penalty for plagiarism is a zero on the paper.
There will be a late penalty of a letter grade off for every day late (including weekends).
