As a result, you are going to serve as the keynote presenter at the upcoming International Association of Chiefs of Police conference.
Conference organizers have asked that in addition to your full-length presentation that you craft a 500-word memo that effectively serves as an executive summary of the critical points from your presentation. Your memo will be included in the packet of materials distributed to each attendee.
For this assignment craft a 500-word memo that accomplishes three main goals:
Provides a brief legal overview of “transparency” legislation in California related to peace officer records.
Provides a brief overview of similar legislation and dynamics in other states and jurisdictions.
Describes best practices for the management of peace officer records requests.
