Visit the National Park Service website ( (Links to an external site.)) and also the websites of various parks. Dig into the management portion of the website to find one or more management plans or other reports used by NPS personnel related to decisions or actions on the park about which your book is written. You can search alphabetically at (Links to an external site.)
For your assignment, write a 5-7 page critical essay, with special emphasis on the specific (this park) compared to the general (the system). What does the difference reveal about the nature of our knowledge? Also: what would have happened to the land if it had not become a national park? Would that be better or worse? Why? How do you know?
Writing, grammar, and spelling will be evaluated as well as content. Rough drafts should be complete and spell-checked.
