In 2016 the University of Glasgow installed a new heating and power network. the new heating technology is to connect 53 buildings on-site to reduce energy costs and to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by greater efficiency.
In a bid to further reduce emissions the university wants to capture CO2 from the chimney (carbon capture), the CO2 is to be sorted in an appropriate geological formation underneath the campus (carbon storage).
