You are required to prepare a research paper, due on April 7 and worth 40% of your final grade.
Your paper should be between 8 – 10 pages in length with minimally the same number of references.
You can use any citation style you wish as long as you are consistent within the paper.

More than once we have come across the idea of “out-of-body” experiences in religio-cultural rituals. Choose two traditions/cultures that we studied and explain the use of “trances” or “trance-possessions.”
Explain the idea and evolution of lwa in Haitian Vodou.
Compare and contrast the centrality of the physical body in two traditions that we studied.
In some of the traditions we studied, social, racial, economic and other prejudices have been seen to act as catalysts for religious development. Choosing two traditions/communities that we have studied, explain how difficulty and oppression were challenged through religious responses.
