By using decision-making steps on a regular basis, it becomes a habit to gather information, consider the possible courses of action, and consider the risks and opportunities as well as the implications of your decision.
Read the scenario.
Using the decision-making steps, suggest a plan of action regarding the needed decision. Stipulate how you approached each step, what you considered, and any conclusions you made.

Scenario:
You are mentoring a younger enlisted service member. They are promotable and are getting ready to transfer to a new duty station. You and your mentee, however, have learned that your mentee’s noncommissioned officer in charge (NCOIC) at the new duty station is somewhat, to put it mildly, “difficult to work with.”
