Write a paper on your vision of the good life. Naturally, a good life should have good things in it. And, according to the guiding assumption alluded to just above, there are three things good enough to be worth pursuing independently in our lives: meaningfulness, happiness, and moral excellence.

So, in your paper, explain the goodness of both meaningfulness (assuming its possibility) and happiness while drawing on whatever philosophical and psychological sources from this course now seem most pertinent to you for this purpose (you may use external sources as well, if you like).

Then describe how you will balance your pursuit of meaningfulness, happiness, and moral excellence (now is your chance to say that you won’t pursue a meaning for your life at all because it is not achievable, if that is what you believe).

Though we have not discussed moral excellence in a broad way in this course, you did have an opportunity to find out what your strengths are, and you should know which virtues those strengths contribute to. This will be relevant to your discussion of moral excellence.
