Description
Using the information provided in the readings, create a chart or summary list of the characteristics of action (practical and participatory) and evaluation (formative and summative) research. Arrange your chart or summary by research design. Try to create a table or summary list that will be a useful tool for you in the future, especially as it applies to your research study. Include the following elements in your chart/summary for each research design (4 pages):
• Description of the design and when it is appropriate to use
• Participant/sampling techniques
• Types of data collected
• Example application (use a peer-reviewed journal article or provide your own example)
• Resource(s): Locate a resource (book, journal article, or website) that you think is the best reference for the type of research (think about what is useful to you in the future), explain your reasoning.
