Objectives of the Research
The research seeks to establish a link between substance abuse and homelessness among youth, emphasizing the age group between 18 and 24.
Research Question
Do substance and drug abuse contribute to homelessness among youths of ages between 18 to 24 years?
Hypothesis
Substance abuse is a significant contributor to the social problem of homelessness among youth in the age bracket of 18 to 24 years old.
Motivation
The youth are a great part of modern society, and helping them is the only guarantee of a better and safer community in the future. I have always wanted to give back to the community, and I believe helping the youth battle their substance abuse problems may help them spring back and work their way back home towards a meaningful future.
Literature Review
Substance usage and abuse push youth to addiction resulting in odd behaviors to acquire drugs and hence homelessness, as Fielding et al. (2013) establish in research. According to the study, not all homeless youths do not have an option or somewhere to call home. Some of the individuals cannot live with the strict regulations at home.
