Guidelines:
You will pick a television series to forward an argument about the cultural/historical significance of this series and why you believe it should fit under the rubric of Quality TV. You will select a short scene (about 3-8 mins, but no more than 15mins) that you found significant or relevant to your series of choice (ideally the same one you will use for your first analysis).
Then you will craft an argument about how the scene’s aesthetic or narrative strategies work in service of the series storytelling purposes. You will want to choose no more than 2-3 aesthetic or narrative strategies to focus on. As with the first analysis, you should also consider what cultural and/or representational issues are significant for the scene and/or series overall.
In your chosen format, you will then conduct a formal analysis of the series to support your argument. You must incorporate in some way, at least 3 sources (this can be a mix of pop culture media criticism sources and scholarly articles.
