INSTRUCTIONS
Choose one of the prompts below and write a 4-5-page expository essay that shows original work. I do not require that you do additional research; however, it is a good idea to consult our in-class scholarship that pertains to your topic. Should you conduct external research, please remember that I am more interested in what you have to say; keep your analysis at the forefront. The essay should conform to MLA guidelines and be formatted in 12-point Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins. Please include a works cited page. Don’t plagiarize.
A successful essay will include:
State your observations. Be sure to include textual evidence. What makes you think what you do? What tipped you off in the text? Incorporate this evidence in your writing.
Clarity and Organization. Have an introduction. Give your reader topic sentences. Create transition statements. Write a conclusion. Proofread.
