Required Content:
The title of this piece of work is:“The application of ahealthpromotion model to provide effective health promotion resources to a target audience.”You can select a topic from any of the nursing care andpathophysiologycontent of the core-syllabus (see the module scheme of workfor the complete list).
Select or create a patient information resource for this topic.
So,for example,you could choose toevaluate ahealth promotionresource related to a specific skin or Musculo-skeletal condition or injury;cancer orhaematological condition;genetic disorder;reproductive or sexual health issue.Once you have chosen your topic, select the health promotion model you consider most appropriate to inform the production and distribution of the resource.The resource should be a digital resource such as a webpage, video,or digital leaflet.
The resource may be part of a wider campaign or a stand alone resource.Refer to the peer reviewed evidence-base throughout yourdiscussion –this should include evidence specific to the topic area of your resource and general health promotion research.Your presentation should include appropriate references throughout.
Presentation Structure:Introduction
You should provide a clear and concise introduction to your presentation that reflects the learning outcomes above.Briefly tell your audience what you are going to do, and how you intend to do it.
You should define:The condition/disorder/issue you will be discussing and why it is significant to nursing care.State the target audience for your resource.The health promotion resource you have selected.
The health promotion model you areapplying to evaluate the resource, highlightingits relevanceto the condition.
Main body of presentation:
The main body of the presentation should show how you have applied the health promotion model to there source.Give an overview of the Health Promotion model you have selected.
Demonstrate where your health promotion resource fitsin this model as part of a health promotion initiative.
Analyse the resource against the principles of health promotion: Equity, empowerment,participatory, inter-sectoral and holistic.
Identify how the resource could be improved to meet the above principles.
Identify the additional steps required to meet the fullhealth promotion model:For example, if you were using the Tannahills’ model and your resource was focused on prevention, what actions would be required to meet the health education and health protection needs of the target group?
Conclusion All presentations like essays, should have a beginning, a middle, and an end. Your conclusion should provide the audience with a summary and key points to consider.How does your learning apply to your nursing practice?

What are the implications for nursing practice?How will this initiative impact upon the target group?
Appendices:
You should includea link to your health promotion resource as an appendix.You may also wish to include a copy of your health promotion model with thetarget topic/group specific actions required for each section of the model.
