Christianity as a Worldview

Description

A challenge to acquiring sufficient knowledge of one’s worldview and how it relates to other worldviews will never be more apparent than in this lesson. If you are Christian then you will have a chance to read Sire’s explanation of how Christian theism is presented in a philosophical vein in light of describing such a worldview. In following his look at Christianity in terms of the eight worldview questions, one can begin to dissect all that goes into an academic discussion of the content and value of the Christian worldview.

If one is not a Christian, the same can be said in terms of analyzing the content of a Christian worldview, all the while anticipating how a particular non-Christian worldview stacks up against what Sire believes. The key to our study this week is gaining knowledge of a Christian worldview as it stands in a pluralistic world. As you add this knowledge to our two previous lessons, you will find yourself in a position to converse and dialogue with those who think like you, as well as those who are of a different viewpoint.

This first website for you to review this week is the Religious Literacy Project, published by Harvard Divinity School, which seeks to set the tone for an examination of all viewpoints.

The second website to visit this week is Renovare (Latin for “renewal”). Take a stroll through this site and see how those upholding the Christian worldview address the issue of pluralism in a different way.
