Oral Pathology Assignment
Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to research an oral pathology in order to recognize signs and symptoms, the etiology, possible treatment options and to understand any dental considerations.
Your research will be presented as a poster presentation so that members of your class will be able to view/read your presentation at their own pace (5 -10 minutes). Your research poster should summarize your research concisely and attractively to help educate and generate discussion.

You will then gather information (research) to include in your presentation from the following sources:

Digital
Books/journals
DENT 237 course materials
Textbooks
Brightspace
Scholarly internet resources
Design the presentation of your research

Using the “Designing a Conference Poster” webpage download a template from the website that you would like to use for your poster. You will find a link to 3 different templates at the top of the webpage, simply choose the template you would like to use and download the file.
Instead of including the titles provided on the template form, you are to include the following titles and corresponding information on your poster:
Introduction: Introduces your pathology, including a description of the etiology of the pathology.
Signs and Symptoms: Describe the symptoms and oral manifestations.
Risk factors: Describe the risk factors of the oral pathology.
Treatment and/or Prevention: Describe how the oral pathology can be prevented and/or treated and any dental considerations that need to be taken into account when treating a patient with the oral pathology.
Citations and References: Include intext citations and a reference list of the literature cited within your poster.
You will not include any “Acknowledgements” but feel free to include further information if you find a website that you feel may benefit the rest of your classmates.
Your research should include a minimum of 3 credible resources.
Include at least one illustration or photo relating to your oral pathology.
