General Instructions
The report should be single-spaced, have 1-inch margins on all sides, and use readable font size and type.
The total number of pages should be 15 to 20.
Numbered references should be provided at the end if they are used.
Be very precise in you report, but do not omit valuable information. Don’t include data or unnecessary tables/statistics for the sake of reaching the page length requirement. If you include tables, refer to them in your writing.
The conclusion must be supported by data and the best possible statistical test whenever available.
Provide step-by-step answers to the questions asked. Show formulas, variable values, and the answers you get.
Always interpret numbers, even if it is not specifically asked for in the questions.
For hypothesis testing, write the hypothesis, test statistics (showing all calculations), critical value or p value (providing details on how you find it), statistical conclusion, and practical conclusion.
Unless otherwise stated in the questions, use a significance level of 5% in the analysis.
Instructions for ANOVA Questions
Indicate what variables you are using and which types of variables they are.
Mention which type of ANOVA test you are performing.
Explain why the test you are using is the best test for the given situation.
Provide the ANOVA table, and explain the results.
If the factors are significant, perform a post-hoc test, provide test results, and interpret the results.
Include a conclusion as well as implications of the test results.
If you are performing more than one ANOVA test in the same question, discuss the points above only for significant test results. Only provide the p value for insignificant test results.
If you are performing just one ANOVA test in the given question, discuss the results in detail.
Instructions for Regression Questions
Explain which variables you are using and which types of variables they are.
Explain the context of the data collection and how each variable is measured.
Explain for each independent variable what type of relationship (e.g., positive, negative, or no relationship) that you are anticipating with the dependent variable and provide a logical reasoning for it.
If the regression involved more than one iteration in arriving at the final model, use the following table to briefly summarize all iterations and then discuss the points below (a through e) only for the final iteration.
Model Independent variables Model Significance R2 Adj. Variable Removed
(p value)
Provide the ANOVA table and interpret the results.
Provide the value of R2 and interpret it.
Provide the coefficient table and interpret the results.
Write the regression equation.
For each relationship or test result that does not turn out as you anticipated (c), provide the possible reasoning for it.
