Reconsidering the fate of the Neanderthals
Neanderthal. The very word has come to symbolize someone who acts like an uncivilized, hairy, violent caveman. You might be surprised to learn, however, that Neanderthals do not match this description.
A couple of months ago a new genetic discovery was made, a discover that now makes Chapter 12 in our textbook incorrect: Neanderthal DNA has been discovered in African populations.
