Introduction
The researcher at WeShip USA has been tasked to update the core network between the Enterprise network and the Mail Handlining network. Currently the Mail Handlining network is in desperate need of a revamp of connectivity architecture. Since some of the WeShip USA sites use old network technologies such as the public switch telephone network (PTSN), integrated services digital network (ISDN), Frame Relay, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) it’s time to retire the old infrastructure to a new network stack. The purposed transition will to replace these technologies with a new Software-Defined Wide Aera Network (SD-WAN) with the connectivity mostly between the sites using one or more of the technologies, such as Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite internet, broadband, and cellular WAN technologies such as 4G and 5G. By replacing costly T1 lines, and older slower ViaSat connections this will reduce the monthly operation cost.
