Identify a research question and hypothesis related to the research topic that will be addressed in student’s literature review. Identify if your research would be quantitative, qualitative, or mixed.
Examples of questions:
What is the difference in recidivism between offenders with at least a GED and those without?
What is the relationship between extracurricular school activities and the grades of elementary school students?
What are the experiences of counselors employed in male recovery programs?
Students will obtain and read three (3) research articles related to their selected research topic/literature review. A one-page summary that addresses the following questions will be completed for each article reviewed along with a cover page. Cite the source according to appropriate APA guidelines on each summary. The following questions must be addressed in each summary:
Was the article quantitative, qualitative, or mixed?
What was the problem?
What was the hypothesis or research question(s)?
What were the conclusions?
Note: Do not use a search engine such as Google, Yahoo, etc. for sources in a research paper. If you use electronic sources, use searches in PsycINFO and Academic Search Complete found online through our library’s website. You will find much of the sources include full text.
Example:
Doe, J. (2014). The problem with having a basic name. Journal of Names, 36, 201-205.
