The Filibuster

The filibuster is a topic that has been discussed many times throughout the course of modern US politics. This recent election cycle brought a fresh wave of opinions about the practice. Picking up from the video on the Filibuster from Chapter 11 (see video on slide 29 of chapter 11, if you’ve forgotten), read these 2 opinion pieces in favor of keeping and removing the filibuster.

Once you have read the pieces, answer the following prompts:

In your own words, describe the what the filibuster is.
