How does an author identify themselves in their text?
Specifically, how do the authors of our first two texts, Amy Poehler and Anne Lamott, include themselves, directly and indirectly, in their own texts. See attached files Writing is Hard A Preface and Instructions for How to Use this Book and use Shitty First Drafts and Perfectionism?
First, search for additional online sources about Anne Lamott and identify the connections between her background and our second text. Then, compare and contrast how Poehler and Lamott include themselves in their respective texts. Are there similarities, differences, or both? How?
In the second paragraph, reconsider this question:
What effect does an author’s voice have on their audience?
How do Poehler and Lamott use their respective voices in their texts? How does this affect their intended audiences? Can you discern whether their intended audiences are similar or different based on each author’s voice? Why or why not? Which text speaks to you more? Why?
This initial post should be at least two academic paragraphs (5-8 sentences in length)
