Option  – Experience Paper:

For this assignment, draw on course material to analyze an adult learning experience you have encountered. The Experience Paper should be 3-5 pages (12-point font, double-spaced) and should include a title and reference page.

The title page should include the tittle of your paper, your name, the course title, and the date. The Experience Paper should follow APA style guidelines and will be evaluated based on the Experience Paper Rubric provided on Blackboard.

Note that the title and reference page(s) DO NOT count towards the page total. There is a template for this assignment available on Blackboard in the folder titled “Templates for Writing Assignments” under the “Syllabus and Course Materials” folder.

This paper should:
• Include a description of the learning experience
o Where did the experience take place? Who was there? What were you learning?
o Was it a positive learning experience? Did you learn anything?
o What type of learning experience was it (formal/nonformal/online/community-based/etc.)?
o What was the learning context (informal, self-directed, etc.)?

• Analyze the experience based on one or more of the learning and teaching theories covered in Chapters 6 and 7 of the text.

o Depending on the theory or model (Andragogy/Behaviorism/Teaching through modeling/etc.) selected, what elements were present or lacking from your experience?

o How might the experience have been different or more effective based on the selected theory?
