Description
Apply strategies for mentoring colleagues within a learning community. The project is divided into three parts to address the scenario.
In part 1, you will write a mentor reflection assessing your perceived strengths as a mentor and areas where you can improve.
In part 2, you will create a mentee plan that outlines your mentee’s current abilities, goals, and a concrete strategy for helping them reach those goals.
In part 3, you will create an evaluation plan describing how you will get feedback from your mentee and including a rubric to evaluate the success of the partnership and a rubric for the mentee to evaluate the success of the partnership.
*Part 1: Mentor reflection (500 to 750 words)
Write about yourself as a mentor, considering what you perceive to be your strengths and areas for improvement. Use researched theories on mentorship when reflecting on your strengths and areas for improvement.
*Part 2: Mentee plan (1,000 to 1,500 words)
Begin by reading the mentee profiles in the Supporting Materials section and select one to serve as your mentee for this project. Each scenario will present a mentee’s background, interests, and professional goals. Use this information along with researched theories and best practices of mentorship to create a plan for your mentee.
*Part 3: Evaluation plan (750 to 1,000 words)
Your evaluation plan will supplement the mentee plan by outlining how you will gain feedback on the mentorship process and assess its success.
