Topic: Discussion
Paper details:
Part 1: ONE initial post
The news/events may include new challenges/opportunities in a changing marketing environment, as well as successful or unsuccessful brand cases found in the news.
They can be taken from online or offline media sources, including newspapers, websites, online forums, books (other than textbooks), TV news reports, professional journals, trade e-newsletters, or magazines. The news/events should be relevant to the topics assigned to you.
Use of videos or other visual sources can bring variety to your post and help other students understand your content better.
Blog-style writing with total 250-300 words is expected.
Once you have found an interesting article, write it up by doing the following:
a) Summarize the news/event.
b) Synthesize and apply course content to the news/event.
c) Based on the news/event, create a Marketing discussion question and type your answers to share with others (The discussion question should be Why/How rather than Y/N).
Follow the assigned topics to find relevant news/events . While some topics are broad, some are narrow.
You can just focus on one or few parts of your topic to find a relevant article or video.
For example, if the topic assigned is “Market Expansion Strategies,” you can use the news of iPhone 13 announce and discuss Apple’s expansion strategy in a specific country (or countries). Another example, if the topic assigned is “Global
Advertising Content:
Standardization vs. Adaption,” you can use the news of iPhone 13 announce and discuss the advertising of iPhone 13 in a specific country (or countries).
In other words, the news/events (articles/videos) are triggers and you can apply different concepts/theories to analyze them.
