Personal Marketing Plan – Marketing Management Applications (Global)
In the global Personal Marketing Plan, the final individual project, you are required to brand yourself as a global professional.
Refer to the Rubric below for the details on this assignment.
In the activity of the Personal Marketing Plan, you will apply the analytical skills you learned throughout the semester as you worked on your case analysis and your group marketing plan to develop a marketing plan to position yourself in the global workplace.
You will begin by updating your resume and then identify a “global dream job” on Indeed.com or any other international job site.
Website of company:
https://www.terna-energy.com/
Once you have identified your desired job in a foreign country, you will read the job description thoroughly.
What will it take to be a chief financial officer in Greece?
Develop an overall objective or goal that you hope the creation of your Personal Marketing Plan will accomplish and incorporate it into the Introduction section of the marketing plan.
You will continue on to analyze the Target market which consists of identifying the industries, companies, departments, country, geographic regions and/or projects that you would like to work for.
You will identify the best company that will benefit and value your skill set and this in essence will become your target market. Ideally, this should line up with the “dream job” that you identified.
Next you will refer to your resume and the company that you would like to work for to develop a SWOT Analysis.
Following that analysis, you will focus on developing Marketing Mix (4Ps) strategy that will enable you to present yourself, as a Product (brand), as competitively as possible when you enter the global job market.
In other words, in this section you will clearly determine how you will package yourself as a product (brand).
Based on your SWOT analysis, where there any internal weaknesses you had to improve on? If so, what can you do to address those and improve yourself as a brand?
Are there any external opportunities to add skills that the global marketplace is looking for in the position that you are interested in landing?
If so, in this section you may identify that you will be taking a specific course online to improve your skillset and thus making you more marketable for the global position.
In the Price section, you will conduct a salary review of positions like that being offered for your dream job. In other words, how much does this job pay?
You should conduct some research on salary reports, industry pay reports, etc. In this section conduct an analysis of the pay being offered for the position and identify the salary dollar amount (i.e. $68,000 annual salary) that you would be willing to accept if the position was offered to you.
In the Place section, you will analyze your current living situation, where you live, where you will be looking for the job, are you mobile and willing to move to another country to get the job, etc?
You will clearly identify the geographic area in which you will be able to accept the position, if offered
to you.
In the Promotion section, you will develop a promotional plan that you will follow to ensure that you are able to get your brand/product/name out there into the global job market with a focus on getting your name and resume to your dream international employer.
In other words, what are you willing to do to get the job?
For example, in this section you will identify how you will improve your resume, how you will be working your network to see if you can get a personal/professional referral, seek out individuals that already work with your dream company to introduce you, apply for x number of jobs online weekly thus increasing your chances of getting a job like your dream job, etc.
In Conclusion, summarize why you should get your global dream job. Explain how engaging in the Personal Plan activity has
impacted you as a CalPoly Pomona student. What have you learned from this activity, what have you learned about yourself, the
foreign job market, creating a plan to reach your objective, etc..
