Task/assessment brief:

You are an investment manager working for Pro Investors Investment Company. You have been approached by a new client who wants to make a long-term £1m investment. The client thinks the economic and investment environment may have changed due to Covid-19, and they are not sure whether to invest in the UK or the US. However, they tell you they have heard good things about the UK and want to invest in three UK sectors :Banking Services, Pharmaceuticals & Home Building and Construction services(one stock listed on the London stock Exchange from each sector) and need expert investment advice from you before they can make their investment.

Write a 4000-word report giving advice to your client regarding investing in the UK (considering the requirements above) .

Your report should include:

A client profile indicating client’s risk and return preferences (+/-300words)

An economic analysis of the UK and US up to and including 30 November 2021 from an investors perspective (+/-800 words)

A sectoral report on each of the three UK sectors listed above (+/-1000 words)

A fundamental analysis of three stock listed on the London stock Exchange in the above mentioned three sectors with

a clear justification of why stocks were chosen and how to divide the £1m(+/-1600 words)

• Alternative markets and investments based on client’s profile (+/-300words)

Word count (or equivalent): 4000 +/-10%

This a reflection of the effort required for the assessment. Reference lists tables, graphs, figures and contents of appendices are excluded from the word count. Contents of appendices are not usually considered when determining your final assessment grade.
