Directions:
Good communication between parents and teens is very important. Yet, communication with parents is often a source of conflict.
Read these two articles about the communication between adults and teens. The first is written for parents and the second is written for teens.

Using the information you read as a source, write a short article for your school newspaper to help parents and teenagers communicate better. Your article should be at least three paragraphs long.

Communication advice specifically for teens

Family Flyer
One of your family members or friends has been nominated for the “Family Member or Friend of the Year” award. It is up to you to let other people know how great this person is, so they will vote for your family member!
Choose a family member or friend with whom you have a good relationship. It could be a parent, sibling, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or close friend. Create a flyer that depicts why this person should receive the award.
Your flyer should contain the following elements:
Describe the person and explain why they deserve this award. Include characteristics that they possess that make your relationship together special. (10 points)
Provide a short story illustrating the positive influence he/she has had on your life. (10 points)
Add pictures and/or graphics to your flyer. (5 points)
