Summary:
Select and describe one SDG and link it to a range of issues that you are interested in, have read about or are aware of. Take a deep dive into the issues surrounding the SDG using the 5W&H model. Explore some potential ideas that would help reduce the impact of the problem.
Reason:
Design Thinkers often use the 5W&H model to explore complex issues in greater detail. This is an opportunity for you to consider an aspect of sustainability in depth and to understand how Design Thinking may help to provide solutions to “wicked” problems.
A wicked problem is a social or cultural issue or concern that is difficult to explain and inherently impossible to solve. Examples of wicked problems in today’s society include things like education design, financial crises, health care, hunger, income disparity, obesity, poverty, terrorism, and sustainability.
This technique allows you to understand a situation fully and to define the underlying problems by analysing many aspects to inspire solutions.
Submission:
