Reflection Journal Assignment Instructions
Overview
This course is designed to help support your individual skill set in treating trauma and trauma responses as it ties to your worldview and counseling identity. As doctoral students, it is vital that your approach to treating clients who have suffered trauma and teaching trauma treatment modalities to other professionals reflects the current evidence base in the field of counseling.
The Reflection Journal assignments are intended to help you synthesize the reading you are doing in the course in a way that offers you the freedom to explore the topics as they relate to your own personal theory of counseling and how the learning will impact your work with clients who have suffered trauma. The Reflection Journals should be written in APA formatting and include a scholarly review of what you have read that specifically is impacting your conceptualization of trauma and the treatment of trauma and trauma responses in clients.
Instructions
After you read your texts and review your online materials for the assigned Modules:
Write a journal entry that answers the questions posed in the Reflection Journal Template.
Each Reflection Journal Assignment should be 3 to 5 pages in length
Not including title page or references section
Follow current APA format including Running Head, Title Page, Introduction, Conclusion, APA style paragraphs and writing, references, and transitions throughout.
There is no specific number of citations required, but APA format should be carefully adhered to with a focus on using a reference to scholarly sources throughout.
Acceptable sources for this assignment include course learning, articles or publications from traumatology experts, Christian counseling authors, biblical scholars, and other scholarly publications. Sources from outside the course should be no more than 5 years since publication.
