Compare pharmaceutical against academic drug discovery and which model of drug discovery is most effective.
Your task
Using a wide range of reliable sources, you will gather information on a given topic from which you will obtain results and information for your report;
Your report should be evidence-based and you should avoid the use of subjective opinions;
Take into account all the relevant information, including that which does not fit into your own interpretation. There is nearly always more than one view about an issue, the nature of a causal explanation, or the interpretation of data. Most topics for the reports are the subject of some
controversy;
In all cases, you will find more than sufficient information on which to base your report, do not underestimate the time taken to write and refine the final draft.
Report format
Your report must be word-processed; the typeface used should be a minimum of 11-point font, and a line spacing of 1.5. Do not use columns. Each page should have a header identifying the work, which should include the authors name (year) and a short running title of the project. Each page should also have a footer with the page number. Headers and footers should be in less than 10- point font.
Critical review dissertations should be no longer than 3000 words pages. Reference lists and figures, tables are excluded from the word count. There should be no appendices. Figure legends can be single-spaced and a minimum of 10-point font. You will be heavily penalised if you include excessive figures or inappropriately detailed figure legends.
Reports that are simply a straight review of the literature, with limited or no critical analysis will be heavily penalised.
You should make clear use of sections & subheadings. You should include figures and tables to support the text. These may be taken from other sources (appropriately referenced) or self- generated.
Do not to replicate tables from individual studies but use tables to review data / evidence from a number of studies.
You should only use references that you have read in full and checked for accuracy.
Use only the title page at the end of this document
