How does our Microbiome make us who we are?
Rob Knight is a pioneer in studying human microbes, the community of tiny single-cell organisms living inside our bodies that have a huge and largely unexplored role in our health. “The three pounds of microbes that you carry around with you might be more important than every single gene you carry around in your genome,” he says. Find out why.

Here are some thoughts and questions to stimulate quality conversation with your peers:
Did you have any idea that the health and diversity of your gut bacteria was so important? What should we do to make use of this kind of information? Will this information make you think differently about the huge responsibility that comes with nurturing the microbes that live in and on you?
Is all of this talk about probiotics and gut health a fad, or is this truly the century of the probiotic? What kinds of things do you do (or should you do) to protect your gut?
