Description
The assignment is based on an individual Amina Jr who is in the documentary.You will focus on Amina Jr from the documentary ‘Fighting Shame’.
It is a documentary about a group of women from Leeds who share stories of poverty though eight objects and the community initiatives they’ve launched to fight the shame that surrounds it, in a bid to start a dialogue with policy makers. The documentary is central around the assignment.
The 30 minute documentary needs to be watched to complete the assignment and the link is on the brief.

Section One
• Describes Amina Jr and her circumstances. This may include age, social circumstances, where does she live, family, occupation , ethnicity etc.
• Considers Amina Jr’s wellbeing including physical, mental and emotional.
• Considers the social determinants of health that could contribute to her life and outcome (socio-economic, environment, culture, education, lifestyle). Then choose one or two and consider them in some detail in relation to risk factors and lifestyle.

• Describes the role of the nurse in relation to behaviour change drawing on the information from section one.
• Describes and discusses behaviour change models . Include pros and cons of each.
• Discusses why it is important for nurses to understand behaviour change. Include the potential consequences on the individual, community and society.
• Discusses what facilitates or inhibits behaviour change? Considers social determinants of health , health literacy, cycle of change)
• Includes some relevant data / statistics to your points.
• Considers community initiatives that help individuals to help themselves. i.e. Dadz

• Considers the role of the nurse in promoting behaviour change. Considers what strategies can be used by the nurse to tackle the issue, what skills may the nurse need for example
