The importance of adequate, multidisciplinary staffing, with clear role definitions in healthcare, to provide safe and effective care to patients whilst reducing incidents of staff burnout.
Description
A systematic review of the literature, using thematic analysis to look at:
A) the importance of a varied workforce in health care, namely healthcare workers, clinical support workers, registered nurses, and advanced nurse practitioners.
B) the importance of these roles being well defined/working within the specific job roles to ensure efficiency which in turn will improve patient outcomes and help reduce incidences of staff burnout.
C) this paper will also need to consider the safe staffing levels ratios and current incidences of burnout in healthcare staff within the UK.
With regards to the sources, for the thematic analysis itself, between 5-7 good papers would be adequate, however the dissertation as a whole will need to be well referenced.
Inclusion/exclusion criteria’s will definitely require – papers within the UK and Ireland only (NHS), journals and articles from 2017-2022 ideally, peer reviewed etc.
Utilising the PICO framework to conduct the literature search.
Databases searched will need to include 3 separate databases ideally including: Cinhal plus, and: Medline, Pubmed, Web of Science, or British nursing database.
