The Norton Introduction to Philosophy 2nd Edition
Readings:
Chisholm’s Human Freedom and the Self (Libertarianism),
Frankfurt’s Alternative Possibilities and Moral Responsibility (Compatibilism version 1),
Wolf’s Asymmetrical Freedom (Compatibilismsion 2)
Objective: To give a quality exposition of course content that was meaningful, interesting, and aided the most in your learning through the course.
Details of the Submission:
Maximum 4 pages, not including a cover page or a bibliography page. No less than 4 pages of actual typed exposition.
Standard font, page spacing, and presentation expectations of MLA or APA style for paper formatting, page numbering, and internal and bibliographical citations.
Part One: 3 pages
Give a quality exposition of the key ideas presented, the key figures’ presented and how they articulated the positions of the issue and the implications of these ideas regarding the theories themselves, practical issues that arise, or problems left unsolved and where that leaves us on the issue.
You should be able to answer questions such as the following:
What is this problem of philosophy really about? What are thinkers trying to deal with within this issue? What’s at stake with this issue? What can we say we know or don’t know?
Part Two: 1 page
Discuss why you chose the content you did and what about it drew you in and kept your interest. What did you learn about it that influenced you in some way? What value does it add to your understanding and learning about your life and about the value of philosophy?
You must do proper citation internally and in a bibliography using MLA or APA. You must have a page with your name and title of the paper. You must have a bibliography page.
