We have been exploring participatory decision making and group facilitation. In this written exercise you will apply these concepts to planning for a meeting at work. Think about a meeting in a professional setting, either one from your lived experience or a meeting that you imagine would happen.
Then, answer these prompts:
In a few sentences describe the physical or virtual setting and context for the meeting.
How would you describe your role as facilitator? What are your strengths as a facilitator? What are your challenges?
What will you do to gather the right individuals at the meeting?
Indicate how you would inform the participants of the purpose of the meeting and the expectations of the participants.
What will you do to ensure all voices and perspectives are heard?
Share strategies you will use to effectively engage conflict as it emerges.
What would need to happen for you to consider this meeting a success?
Your written plan should include a introduction and conclusion paragraph, cite at least 3 sources and should be a minimum of 1000 words.Readings : Text Book:
