Children are born with a unique personality and temperament. Most children fall into the Easy category. About 10% of children fall into the Feisty category. Another 15% fall into the Slow to Warm category. Roughly 35% are uncategorized or a mix of temperaments. A child’s temperament shows how he or she will approach and react to a variety of situations within the environment.
Choose three different children, one for each type of temperament – Easy, Feisty , and Slow to Warm . The children can be those you know or fictional children you create or view on television. Children must be between the ages of birth to 8 years old. In 2-3 pages in a Word document, perform the following:
For each child, determine a setting, and describe the following based on their temperament and age. Explain the temperament type and how it is seen in this child’s behavior, language, and actions.
Identify the age of the child.
Identify the child’s temperament type.
Describe what the child says, how they move, and how they interact with others.
Describe possible behavior implications for the child – how their temperament may impact behavior.
Provide examples of how you, as the educator, would respond to their behavior.
Compare each child’s temperament to your own and explain why it is important to relate to temperaments different than your own.
Include at least one reference to a resource from this module . Use in-text citations where appropriate. In addition to the 2-3 pages, include an APA formatted title page and a reference page.
