Introduction
Often times, the provisions of a law do not necessarily equate to achievement of the intent. It might be that the wording is confusing and vague. It might that the provisions don’t translate well into practice. When this happens, what do we do? Do we live with it and hope we can get everyone to follow it despite the difficulty? The better option might be to review the law and revise the provisions to eliminate the confusing language or implementation issue. Revising an existing law will be the focus of this assignment.

Directions
We will critique the EMTALA legislation. Review the following document “Lessons Learned From EMTALA Enforcement”. Links to an external site.This document identifies some of the key issues with EMTALA enforcement. You will provide a PPT that can be presented to the managers of your hospital that will summarize how we can revise our process based on the legal interpretations of the problematic provisions of the Act.
Case Study: The students are expected to carefully read the assignment instructions, then thoroughly and explicitly address each component. The submission should reflect higher-level cognitive processing , which is essential for someone being prepared to serve in an operational capacity within the healthcare and related industry.
To earn the maximum number of points, the submission should reflect college-level execution with clear evidence of critical thinking, synthesis of relevant information from credible sources, and clear mastery of the concepts necessary to successfully execute each component of the assignment.
The PPT should not exceed 12 slides, excluding the title and reference list pages, and explicitly address all required components of this assignment.
The presentation should be prepared as a practical business deliverable and include at least three (3) references of credible or peer-reviewed sources to support any suppositions and recommendations.
The in-text citations and the list of references must adhere to the APA writing style (7th ed.).
