For this assignment, you will need to first select one of the topics below. Once you have selected a topic, you are to research two of the interest groups who fall under that topic, using the websites listed below. From those websites, you will then use the information garnered from the various web pages to answer the following questions:
What is each interest group’s background or history?
What is each group’s main policy goal? Do they focus on one issue or is their goal multi-faceted? How do they convey their policy goal?
What kind of material and psychological benefits does the group offer?
What information can you gather about how they raise funds? Do they explain how those funds are used to advance their goals?
What techniques does the group use to influence the government?
Again, use specific information from the websites to support your answer, but do not simply copy/paste from the site. I want your analysis of the information provided and not quotes or talking points from the group’s site. Be careful to avoid offering your personal opinion on the group. Rather, this paper is an objective, scholarly analysis of each group’s activity.
Each answer to the above questions should be between 400-600 words. The assignment will be graded according to how closely the answers follows the prompt; how well the paper uses evidence to support that answer; clarity; and editing. Therefore, proofread the assignment carefully. Please also organize the assignment so that your answer to each question is easily identifiable.
