Write the first two steps in what is known as a research proposal. This will be the beginning of the process for designing a complete research experiment. You will not collect any data. Your written paper will include the following steps:
Step 1 – In week 1 you will choose the research question that you are going to use to develop your experiment. Next, you will write your hypothesis and identify the independent and dependent variables. This will be submitted as part of your Week 1 assignment.
Step 2 – You will write the introduction section to set your readers up for what you will be covering within your study. This will be submitted as part of your Week 1 assignment.
Step 3 – Develop an annotated bibliography to gain a deeper understanding of your overall research topic. For this assignment you will need to find 4 peer-reviewed journal articles through Keiser’s online library for your annotated bibliography. You will submit this portion of your project in Week 2. Please see Annotated Bibliography under week 2 for further direction on how to write an annotated bibliography.
Step 4 – You will convert your annotated bibliography into a literature review.
Step 5 – You will write an abstract that will summarize your introduction and your literature review.
Final Project Outline:
I.Title page
II.Abstract
III.Introduction
IV. Literature Review – 2-3 pages introducing your topic and providing an overview of
the key variables in your experiment as discovered through the analysis of your articles from your
annotated bibliography.
V.Reference page– presented in APA format
IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER
In your abstract be sure to summarize key points from your introduction and methodology, hypothesis, independent and dependent variables, and treatment conditions.
After your introduction, include a literature review that relates to your procedures. Introduce your research question, hypothesis, independent and dependent variables, and treatment conditions again in the first paragraph. This will be repeated in each section.
APA formatting: Remember that references must match citations.
