#2: The Rights of Children Conceived Through Donor Insemination, or IVF w/ Egg Donor:
Sally is sixteen years old and her parents have just revealed to her that she was conceived as a result of an egg donor. She wants to know the identity of the donor and becomes extremely distressed when her parents tell her that the donor’s identity was never revealed to them during the IVF process. Should Sally – and other children who are conceived through assisted reproductive technologies – have any rights to know the identity of their donors? Why or why not?
