This unit is: Working Collaboratively to meet the needs of each child.
7 activity plans covering the 7 areas of the EYFS need to be on the attached proforma.
Need to meet learning outcomes 1&3. 1. Demonstrate critical understanding of the wide range of children’s individual needs. 3. Demonstrate the ability to plan provision to meet an individual child’s needs across all areas of learning and development.
I have attached the assignment guidance, level 6 descriptors and the university Harvard referencing guide.
Must come with Bibliography.
My tutor likes to discuss the role of the key person, children’s voices. The key person is the advocate for the right of the child.
For this assignment we have looked at researcher Locke and children being ‘blank slates’. The Field/Allen/Marmot review of poverty/health issues in young children and the long term impact on a child’s development.
Dr Mine- Neuroscience and how this is now making way in Early Years.
Research: such as Mary Sheridan, Breunfernbrenner, 1001 days, Eleanor Goldschmied, Stella Lewis, Jools( love care and intimacy), Hopkins, Tronick, Triangle of care/trust. Warnock (if child has special needs). ‘Early Workforce strategy (2017).
Look at key dispositions for children in our settings (curiosity/openness/optimism/resilience/concentration/creativity)- how does this sit in the characteristics of effective learning.
The consequences of getting it wrong is highlighted in the ‘Allen Report (2011).
The plans will not be marked but how these plans meet the needs of the children across the 7 areas of learning in the EYFS. So 1 plan for each area. Have a specific child in mind- use Child T.
Lo1: wide range of children’s needs- ideas to consider:English as additional language, speech and language, ASD, Development delay, ADHD, High achieving, gender, boys vs girls, social background (poverty), health needs.
LO3: if using a SEND child can discuss multi agency working. Using indoors and outdoor learning environments. The role of the key person and the need to work with wider professionals and parents.
