Many illegal substances are available in our society and unfortunately many are being introduced on a regular basis. Some substances such as alcohol and nicotine are legal for adults and are being consumed on a daily basis. It is important to be knowledgeable regarding categories of substances including their members, effects, and potency not only to protect us as individuals, but also to assist others who are presently engaged with illegal substances.
Write a two to three page paper describing the major psychoactive substances, which are categorized as stimulants, depressants, narcotics, hallucinogens, cannabis. Present two supporting scholarly sources, apply APA formatting, and follow the Paper Writing rubric.
To achieve maximum points for content and analysis, the following elements need thoroughly addressed:
Summarize at least two of the categorized members listed above with their effects and potency.
Address alcohol use disorders and their personal and social impact.
Discuss the major causes of substance use disorders.
Describe a biblical integration on how to respond to individuals with addictive disorders.
Provide at least two scholarly sources. Citations to the dictionary should be provided on top of the required two sources. The Bible does not have to be listed in the References page, but does have to be cited in-text.
