An essay of 1500 words —
A comparison of the marketing methods of two multinational hotel chains. Students will be required to write an academic essay introducing the subject of marketing, specifically comparing the marketing methods and strategy of two multinational hotel chains.
They will choose two hotels (one from Group A and one from Group B) and in doing so the essay. will compare the differences between the ways in which they market their products. This will include writing about the different brands within those chains of hotels and considering what part segmentation and targeting plays within their marketing. Is it different for the different brands or does it remain the same for all their hotels (brands) in the same way? This is unlikely so how do they change things?
This will allow the student to talk about the different generational approach to marketing and perhaps the use of social media and digital marketing versus traditional advertising and marketing techniques.
The student will also discuss how their chosen two chains have changed their marketing over time. Has their marketing been influenced by providing a ‘green’ message? what changes have they made during the pandemic?
