•Supplementary text: “Abolition and Reparations: Histories of Resistance, Transformative Justice, and Accountability” by Patrisse Cullors

Assignment:

This assignment asks you to write an argument that considers the role of abolition in the context of systemic racism and implicit bias in the US. Your evidence will come from Ogletree’s book and Cullors’s article. Ogletree’s book is the primary text under consideration in your argument although you must also use both the book and the article. Do not use unauthorized texts.

Include an original, multi-dimensional, and arguable main claim, subclaims, reasons, evidence, warrants, acknowledge and response, and analysis with minimal summary. The paper should demonstrate an awareness of audience, use appropriate organization and development, clearly articulate your ideas, use correct mechanics, and follow MLA conventions for citations and format. Include a Works Cited page, which will not count toward the word count minimum. The incorrect use of MLA will impact the paper grade.
