DIRECTIONS

Literature Review Report (15% of Grade).

Select your (debatable) topic from the list of 15 given.
From the list of reliable online websites, you will search for articles on your topic. You need FIVE (+) online source articles. (Google and Wikipedia do not count.) Every source must be fully accessible online – so I can open it and read it.

Read your chosen source articles carefully. Then write a one-paragraph summary of the important ideas expressed in each article keeping track of who said what. You will also want opposing opinions and their details. Keep track of any direct quotations or statistical information. You will need these to make citations later. There are no length requirements, but each summary paragraph will probably be in the 200-word range.

You may decide a source you chose is unsuitable after you read and think about it. If this happens, summarize it and explain why you think it is not suitable.

Collect these (5+) paragraphs and combine them into a Literature Review Report document. You will need to write your own introduction paragraph with general background information about the topic. Add your own analysis of the merits of the arguments and any questions you think need answering- in your conclusion.

This means that your literature Review will have an introduction, and 5+ following paragraphs – one paragraph describing the arguments made by each of your sources – plus a conclusion where you express your thoughts on the issue gained through your reading.

The Literature Review Report must include a References page. The references must be complete. Naked URLs are not accepted. References are listed in alphabetical order by author’s last name and use a ‘hanging indent’ formatting style. Refer to the sample(s) on the LMS and the APA Guide. This is important and graded.

This report is to be uploaded on Turnitin. A Self-Checker is provided for you to check similarity (15% or less is allowable) You are responsible for checking and fixing your similarity issues. Unchecked final drafts are deducted 20%. You have all used Turnitin before.

The Final Draft Turnitin is Final. No rewrites. (-due on Thursday of Week 4-)

You will use much of this work when you write your Research Paper later in the course.
