Summary-Analysis Paper Assignment
This assignment is worth 150 points
This assignment requires students to locate and read a scholarly article from the OCC database and write a summary and analysis of the article. The article must not be about a hot-button topic such as gay rights, gun control, marijuana, abortion, capital punishment, etc., but instead must be about a topic that is not discussed every day in mainstream media outlets. If students have concerns about their topics, they must contact the instructor before choosing a topic. Writing about a topic that is not allowed will result in no credit on the paper.
The paper must be 250-350 words in length. If a paper contains too many or too few words, it will receive an automatic 10% deduction in the final letter grade. Furthermore, any writing that goes over the word count range will not be read, responded to, or graded. The use of one scholarly article from the OCC Library database is permitted on this assignment.
