Part II. In two separate responses, discuss the Symbolism in each story. Examples from the text are encouraged:
State the specific Symbolism you find.
Explain how the Symbolism impacts the story,
Consider what the overall impact would be if the story did not include the symbols.
Part III. After reading the two authors’ biographies, find a common thread among them as it relates to their writing. For example, consider why they began writing? Were they educated? Did something happen in their youth? Is it something about their personalities? Does passion have something to do with it? Did another person encourage them to write? Do not overthink this question. We are just looking for general similarities regarding how and why people end up as writers. Just remember to support your claim(s) with examples and evidence from the course materials.
For this discussion, consider the various explanations of how Symbolism impacts the story. Why do you think the author chose these symbols? Did a classmate mention Symbolism in any of the stories that you did not notice?
