Read the scenario before attempting the task:
You have been assigned to a new class for the next academic year.
During your 1-1 catch up with the class teacher she shares information from the previous class teacher about three children who demonstrate behaviour that is sometimes challenging. The class teacher asks that you undertake some independent research into policies and procedures ready for the start of term staff meeting.
• Summarise policies and procedures relevant to promoting children and young people’s positive behaviour
• Explain effective practice in relation to behaviour management.

For this activity, using the policies and procedures from your placement, review expectations in relation to behaviour when working with others (2.1)
Explain strategies for promoting positive behaviour according to policies and procedures of your setting (2.2)
Explain referral processes in line with policies and procedures for behaviour that challenges (3.4)
Supervisory Observation
This unit requires you to be observed in your own setting. Your supervisor should observe you in practice, completing the following tasks as part of your day to day role.
Your supervisor will complete an observation form with commentary on your performance and competency in these specific tasks.
Following your observation, you should discuss with your supervisor any areas of development as part of a professional discussion. A professional discussion form should be completed/or a zoom recording of your professional discussion can be submitted.
Please ensure that your name units’ number and criteria identified in the observation is included. All records must be signed and dated before submitting your tutor.
